Steve was born and raised in New Jersey. His grandfather and father were both building contractors and real estate developers. Steve continues the family tradition in the building industry as an Architect and Building Inspector. After graduating from Rutgers University in 1981, Steve joined his father’s building inspection business and worked full time as a home inspector until 1987 when he returned to school to study Architecture and earned his Masters Degree in 1991 from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. After graduating, he worked for a few different firms to diversify his knowledge in the practice of Architecture. In 1995, he joined Kruger Kruger Albenberg as an employee and in 1998 Steve co-founded Albenberg Hockstein Architects. In 2002, Douglas Miller became a principal in the firm and the firm name was changed to AHM Architects. In addition to his Architecture Licenses in New Jersey and New York, Steve is a Licensed New Jersey Home Inspector and Radon Technician. Steve has also served on the Board of Directors of numerous professional organizations and is a founding member of New Jersey Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors (NJALPHI).
